What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is a treatment modality that aids in creating well being and healing disease by the use of yoga teachings, yoga movements, guided imagery, meditation and breath work. It is a "whole hearted" approach to becoming aware of unhealthy patterns and learning to surrender tension, which can lead to a balanced, happy life. The approach looks at the whole person, examining all aspects of ones life to develop an effective  treatment plan.

Yoga therapists are careful to meet clients where they are, and create a plan that feels manageable. Clients learn to move through life's challenges with a greater sense of grace and ease. They learn to let go of expectations and move into a state of being. Limited ability and/or lack of yoga experience is not an issue. Yoga therapy can help with:

  • Anxiety, and depression

  • Grief and trauma

  • Managing pain

  • Moving through big life changes

  • Working through different types of disease

  • ADHD, ADD, Autism
